Kent Heritage Festival July 4th The longest standing Jaycees event, Ducks is a fun and highly visible event for our chapter. 2,000 plastic ducks are dropped off the Main Street bridge and "race" down to tannery park. Grand prize of $1,000 is awarded to the winner and donations from local businesses make up the rest of the prizes. Beer, grilled food, live music, classic cars, sunshine. Local foodies (both professional and amateur) prepare samples of food for patrons who pay a fee for entrance to the event. All proceeds from the event benefit Coleman Professional Services and Family and Community Services. A melodic background for the event is provided by local musical talent.

Every year, the Jaycees help out with The Kent Recreational Department's Easter Egg Hunt the Saturday of Easter week. Jaycees are responsible for hiding eggs (usually chucking buckets full of eggs in designated areas of Fred Fuller Park), keeping over-zealous children and parents at bay until the Hunt begins, and making sure the age restrictions for each area are followed. It's a fun and easy Jaycees project to get involved with.

Known as Kent’s first reverse raffle, the Jaycees have hosted this event for a number of years. This, one of our cornerstone events, is a large scale reverse raffle complete with a full dinner, entertainment, silent auction items, and other contributions from the local community. This event takes a lot of manpower and organization. It would be preferred if the chairperson has attended and been on the committee for the raffle previously.

Haunted Train Car

(Friday before Halloween usually) Around Halloween, Main Street Kent puts on the Family Friendly Halloween event which asks local business to open their doors and have kids trick-or- treat downtown. As part of this event, we host a Haunted Train Car Dance Party. We invite kids to come aboard the train car for candy, dancing, and a simple craft that they can take with them.

Join the Jaycees at our annual Reverse Raffle Saturday, March 4, 2017 at the Kent State Hotel and Conference Center to support The Children’s Advocacy Center of Portage County. Attendees will be entered in the raffle drawing for a chance to win the grand prize of $3,000! Local businesses are encouraged to donate silent auction items to the Kent Jaycees for the event. More than 1,300 children die every year from abuse or neglect. The Mission of the Children’s Advocacy Center is to improve the community’s response to child abuse and neglect and to lessen the negative impact of abuse on children.
